About the Presenters
Patrina received her PhD in the laboratory of James Rothman at Yale University in 2013. Her thesis work involved using microscopy techniques to study intracellular trafficking at the Golgi. Directly after her PhD, Patrina became an Applications Scientist at GE Healthcare where she became an expert in advanced light and super-resolution microscopy. Patrina is now the Chief Customer Officer for Mizar Imaging where she helps build microscopy products that focus on the needs of the researcher and make imaging easier for everyone. Luciano did his academic work with Gillian Tozer and Christopher Mitchell in the field of tumor angiogenesis and vascular targeting agents. He received his PhD from the University of Nottingham, England, in 2008. During his academic career he used a wide range of 2D, 3D and 4D confocal / multiphoton microscopy systems and many advanced image analysis platforms (e.g. Imaris and FIJI). Since then he has participated in a number of microscopy, image analysis, machine learning and science communication workshops, courses and meetings as a guest speaker. Luciano is currently the Executive Vice President at DRVISION where he heads the Aivia team.
